E-Ticketing functionality added to reservation systems OCEAN / Canary

The functionality of issuing electronic tickets (e-tickets) in external flight systems has been added to ISO Travel Solutions' reservation systems "OCEAN" and "Canary".

Nuremberg, Germany, August 2007

Nuremberg-based company ISO Travel Solutions has expanded its tour operator systems OCEAN and Canary by the functionality of generating e-tickets. First user is Air Canada Vacations in Montreal.

When a flight is booked, the reservation system checks in the external flight system if the flight is e-ticketable or not. If the booking is e-ticketable, two document entries are generated in the OCEAN / Canary reservation. The first entry is used to generate the e-tickets in the external system later on, when the printing date is reached. The second is used for creating the confirmation print-out for the customer, which he/she can show at checking-in at the airport, if necessary.

Via a timer print-batch job, OCEAN / Canary automatically selects the tickets which have reached their issuing date and triggers the external flight system to actually issue the e-ticket.
The batch can be configurated in the way that only those tickets will be generated for which the invoice is already paid by the passenger.

After the ticket has been created in the external flight system, the ticket number is saved in the relevant OCEAN / Canary booking. The next step - after the ticket was successfully generated - is, that the above-mentioned confirmation for the customer is automatically printed by OCEAN / Canary.

The described functionalities were realized with ISO-customer Air Canada Vacations in Montreal.
Air Canada Vacations generates vouchers for all booked services electronically, as well, e.g. for hotels and transfers. With this new function ACV wants to boost customer satisfaction and wants to reduce labor intensive tasks - and last but not least ACV wants to reduce waste.
All vouchers are sent to the customers automatically via e-mail - the same way as the flight e-tickets.
